Ok now i know most people would think I'm crazy for not doing harry potter first but i didn't for two reasons to predictable and i haven't read them for a long time so I'm not the harry potter expert. The first book is "The Field Guide" in the Spiderwick series this book rating is a 4.5 because it could of been longer and i think the characters got used to it to quickly. This book is about three children that live with there mother ever since there father went away and never came back. There names are Malory the oldest, and Jared and Simon who are identical twins. They move into The Spiderwick Estate owned by their relatives and of course one of them doesn't like it. After a day or two things get stolen and bad things start happening and it gets blamed on jared since he didn't like the move but eventually jared finds that all their stuff is hidden in the wall on a dumb waiter and, jared will jared , he goes in and up and finds a special room with a book "Arthur Spiderwick Field Guide To The Fantasticle World Around You" and he opens it and awakens a dark force that wants the book and will kill to get it. So Jared has to convince his siblings that it is true that a fairy that they cant see stole the stuff so they can help him stop the evil force. I recommend this series for younger children 8-10.
